Alumni Network

We engage our alumni through quarterly newsletters, a LinkedIn group, facebook and twitter.  Alumni have the opportunity to attend exclusive networking events and also support one another in their career ambitions through sharing ideas, information and experience.  There are currently 150 members in the Network.

Every year alumni attend the UP Annual Lecture and Graduation Dinner. Engaged members are also invited to exclusive events such as meetings with ministers, funders and an annual meeting of Ambassadors in St James Palace.

Meet some of our alumni:

Philipp, UP 2010-11

As part of the UP programme Philipp’s group ran a campaign against human trafficking called STOP: Red Light.  The campaign has since gone from strength to strength and the photography exhibition at the centre of the campaign has been shown at the Stop the Traffik global summit and Westminster Hall at the House of Commons.  Philipp is now Director of the Red Light Campaign. After graduating from the programme Philipp did an internship at the U.N in New York.

Meriel, UP 2009-10

After graduating from university Meriel joined Oxfam GB where she works as a Project Manager.  In 2011 Meriel was selected to become a member of 3FF’s Consultative Council.  She has also represented 3FF at meetings with funders and stakeholders, including the Pears Foundation and the Ambassador of Kuwait.

Jaffer, UP 2010-11

Jaffer is a Youth Officer for Blackburn Labour Party, a member of the Young Muslim Advisory Group (YMAG) and works as a youth worker.  In recognition of the contribution he has made to his local community he has been elected to be a torch-bearer for the London 2012 Olympics.

Deqa, UP 2008-09

Deqa has been an incredibly active member of the alumnus of the UP programme since she graduated in 2009. She has interned at the 3FF office and spoken at events including a meeting of Ambassadors to the UK at St James Palace.  Deqa is passionate about making the world a better place and in 2011 she volunteered in Nepal with the charity Restless Development.
