Facilitation Training for Intercultural and Diversity Work

Gain the skills and confidence to create safe spaces for positive discussions

“I met 3FF and...became a more confident and skilled facilitator, able to handle controversial dialogue!”
Birmingham University Interfaith Association Officer

Can words really change the world, or is it all just talk? We believe facilitating good discussions can change the way people think, communicate and act. In our facilitation training, new facilitators and experts alike can gain practical skills and tools to get the best from interfaith/intercultural discussions.

Level 1: Basic Facilitation

Participants will learn how to:

  • Create and maintain safe space
  • Use games to build participation and investment
  • Learn facilitation styles and practical techniques
  • Encourage positive contributions and challenge unhelpful behaviour
  • Reflect and help participants learn from the experience

Level 2: Interfaith & Intercultural Facilitation

Participants will learn how to:

  • Effectively facilitate interfaith/intercultural sessions.
  • Better understand other people’s faiths, beliefs and cultures.
  • Guide people to deeper, more challenging conversations
  • Help people understand the complexity behind common assumptions & stereotypes
  • Manage unhelpful behaviour such as preaching, talking at length or making judgements

“The 3FF Facilitator Training was fantastic. It was a great grounding in how to communicate with people effectively, and create a productive space where all beliefs can be discussed openly.” Community Worker
