"I’ve never really spoken to anyone of another religion -

this really opened my eyes"

"It was a good chance to come out of our bubbles, get together and

find out our similarities seem to outweigh our differences"

"As British people we have a connection, and so it was good to learn that the things that unite us are greater than the things that divide"

Hi & welcome to 3ff, the Youth Division of the Three Faiths Forum!

After a hugely successful pilot year, 3FF continues to engage young Muslims, Christians and Jews in Trialogue with its wide range of opportunities and educational programmes. We believe that, “if you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together”.

On these pages are some examples of how we are going, who we are going with, and what we are doing. The road is long, and we pave it at each step for those who follow behind.

Feel free to join us!

TOOLS 4 TRIALOGUE

The 3ff’s educational workshops, Tools 4 Trialogue, brings scripture-based interfaith encounters to secondary schools (with a focus on single faith schools) colleges and universities, and to religious youth groups.

Extracts from the Tanakh, New Testament and Quran are presented and discussed on a variety of topical themes, such as "BLING! - Beauty, Modesty & Clothing", "Freedom of Choice" and "Environment."

THE 3ff INTERFAITH TOOL BOX

The "3ff Interfaith Tool Box" is the name we give to our mix-and-match selection of activities that prepare for and complement our interfaith encounters. The "Tool Box" aims to facilitate in six principal areas: Conflict Resolution, Dialogue Skills, Getting to Know You, Identities, Interfaith in Action and Text and Language. Using selected resources from the "Tool Box," we build tailor-made workshops to suit single- and mixed-faith groups of all ages. These components include:

  • “Tools of Engagement” – putting together a code of conduct for dialogue
  • “Y Interfaith” - an introductory programme exploring some of the reasons why we do dialogue
  • Interactive exercises exploring a range of issues, from the many identities we hold to the difficulties of dialogue, from the nature of the “Sacred” to how and when to use conflict resolution skills
  • Jewish, Christian and Muslim presenters showcasing Trialogue on a theme
  • “A Day in the Life”: How faith impacts upon the daily lives of a Jew, a Christian and a Muslim, followed by Q&A

3ff Interfaith Dialogue Training

The training programme grew out of doing T4T in schools. We wanted to empower group leaders and engaged university students to be able to facilitate their own workshops and to establish and run groups.

The course aims to make us more sensitive and improve our listening and communication skills by looking at the tricky questions arising when people talk about religion. Ideas of sacredness and linguistic hurdles make it harder to understand each other than we sometimes think.
