3FF is delighted to announce that we will be participating in the London Landmarks Half Marathon, on Sunday 25 March, for the very first time.
As part of our 21 Challenges for 21 Years Campaign, we have 10 incredible runners who will be representing 3FF at the event. Their hard work and motivation represents their commitment to promoting peace and tolerance in our society and we are proud that they will be representing 3FF and our shared values of interfaith work on a national level.
In the coming month we will be featuring some of the stories of our runners in a series of blog posts and on our social media pages where we will highlight their reasons and motivations for taking up this challenge on behalf of 3FF.
Many of the participants have a long history with 3FF and have volunteered as school speakers or taken part in our ParliaMentors or internship programmes. We also have new members of the 3FF community taking on the challenge after finding common cause with the work that we do. Even 3FF’s very own director, Phil Champain, will feature in the race!
The range of participants embodies the community spirit that represents 3FF’s ethos. Each individual, whether staff, alum, volunteer or new family member, stands (and runs!) side by side to raise as much awareness around the cause as possible.
We will be there on the day to show our support for our runners. We are setting up a cheering station between 08:30 and 14:30, and we are looking for volunteers to come and help out. If you’re up for waving banners, cheering people on and spreading the 3FF warmth, we want to hear from you. There’ll also be exclusive 3FF t-shirts for volunteers on the day! We would love to see you there! For more information and to join us, please email Abigail Kay.
Of course, the London Landmarks Half Marathon is just the first challenge event that our supporters will be taking part in throughout the year. Coming up, we have 11 fundraisers who are taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge, the Coast to Coast Cycling Challenge and Tough Mudders! Stay tuned on this blog for more about our participants and their challenge journeys.
This is an exciting period in time for the 3FF community. We have a target of £21,000 which we aim to raise by the end of the year to celebrate our 21st anniversary year. Whether it’s a donation to our 21 Challenges fundraising page or coming along to cheer our runners along, we hope you’ll help us show enormous support and thanks to our 21 Challengers! Let’s all come together and show our support for 3FF and interfaith work.
