We condemn the violent attack in Westminster yesterday, and call on people of all faiths and beliefs to stand united in the face of this tragedy.

Our thoughts go out to those who lost their lives, and we send our deepest sympathy and condolences to their families and friends.

The bravery of police, emergency services and members of the public, whose actions saved lives, demonstrates the empathy and care we feel for our fellow human beings, no matter what our faith, race and identity.

Similar empathy and care is demonstrated daily all across London and the UK, in many different ways, by those acting tirelessly to improve community relations and address injustice.

We encourage those working to strengthen relations between people of different faiths and beliefs to redouble their efforts. In particular, we reach out to all those we engage with to continue working for a fairer, more inclusive and safer world.

We are with you.
